Make Halloween fun for the kids.
1. Always stay in groups, do not go out by yourself. Go with Mom or Dad or a Buddy (never go alone).
2. Do not eat the treats until an adult checks it out.Thoroughly check all candy and discard any questionable pieces (many police agencies offer free x-raying of candy on Halloween).
3. Where some kind of light or reflective clothing, such as white, yellow, or orange.
4. If you were a mask make sure the eyes fit properly.
5. Make sure your costume fits properly, not to long to avoid tripping.
6. If you were make-up make sure it is non-toxic or hypoallergenic.
7. Carry a flashlight.
8. Only go to houses where you know the people that live there.
9.Make sure all costume accessories are safe and flexible (no sharp or pointy edges).
10. Walk on the sidewalk and cross only at corners.
11. Do not cross the street from behind a car. Make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.
12. Trick or treat only in familiar areas.
13. Walk do not run.
14. Keep costumes away from pumpkins lit with candles.
15. Only trick or treat houses with outdoor lights on.
16. Never get into a stranger's car.
17. Set a specific time for children to be home.
18. Give children money to phone home if needed.
