My Daughters are a big part of my life.
I love them dearly!
They are growing up so fast,
too fast at times.
Each and everyday I watch as they grow
into beautiful young ladies.
I wish them all the happiness in the world.
God, please watch over my girls
as they grow up in difficult world.
Help me to show them that you are here
to help them on their ways through life.

Within The Perfect Life
A golden frame on a plain whitewall
was the picture of a perfect life.
Oil paints and pastels colors
made it come alive.
I wonder who the artist could have been,
they created a river flowing down a hill.
The sky had a purple pinkish hue,
clouds were surronding it,
as if it were the frame
and a unicorn was in the painting, too.
Mountains filled the background,
some with snow capped peaks.
My eyes scrolled down the lower
and much to my surprise
there was a lake and
a bench with willow trees on either side,
it made me think of you.
I grabbed a brush, some paint and water.
I knew just what to do
I painted you and me on the bench by the trees.
Our bare feet resting in the lake.
The golden frame on a plain white wall.
Was the picture of our perfect life.
You and me together,
make it come alive,
and we are the artists that created it.

If I had my children to raise all over again
I'd finger paint more and point the finger less
I'd do less correcting and more connecting
I'd take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes
I would care to know less and know to care more
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites
I'd stop playing serious and seriously play
I'd run through fields and gaze at more stars
I'd do more hugging and less tugging
I would be firm less often and affirm much more
I'd build self-esteem first and the house later
I'd teach less about the love of power
and more about the power of love.
